At Mayflower Gardening, we love a challenge! Our recent visit to a property in Sedgehill (Wiltshire, near Shaftesbury in Dorset) certainly didn’t disappoint!
This once-loved yard had sadly been left to nature for several years, allowing brambles and overgrowth to take over completely. But with the property preparing for sale, it was time to clear the way for a fresh start.
This time, it was a two-person job. Armed with a flail mower, we tackled the worst of the tangled brambles and dense undergrowth, cutting through years of neglect. In the tighter spaces, we used strimmers to ensure every corner was cleared. After a thorough rake-up of the debris, we completed the clearance with a small, manageable bonfire – just as the customer requested.
The result? As you can see from our before-and-after photos and video, the transformation was dramatic! What once felt like an impassable jungle is now a spacious, sale-ready yard that looks and feels so much bigger.
